How to Set Your Vehicle’s Ignition Correctly for AutoMind communication
Before the app can communicate to your vehicle, the ignition must be ON to wake up the vehicle’s engine computer.
? If your car uses a traditional key, just turn it to position 2 — you’ll see the dashboard lights come on.
? If it has a push start button, it can vary. The most common methods are: Without pressing the clutch or brake pedals…
- Push the Start button twice or three times.
- Or, press and hold the button until the dashboard wakes up
You’ll know it’s worked when the engine management light on your dashboard stays on.
If your car doesn’t connect on the first try, you’ll be informed on the app. Here are a couple of tips to deal with such cases:
- Start the engine, then turn it off, then turn the ignition back on and choose the try again option. This can help fully wake up the engine management system.
- If it’s still not connecting, start the engine and leave it running before trying again.
- Finally, if you’re still struggling it’s likely there’s a communication glitch between the app and the vehicle has occurred. In such instances, we recommend turning the vehicle ignition off, disconnecting the dongle, closing the app, and finally, turn off Bluetooth on your phone. Then, turn Bluetooth back on before starting again. Nine times out of ten, if your car is compatible, this will resolve the issue.
