What is an OBDii Dongle Device?

Think of your car as a smartphone—packed with sensors, data, and hidden
diagnostics data. An OBD-II dongle (OBD stands for On-Board Diagnostics)
is the little gadget that lets you tap into all that info.

Plug it into the OBD port (usually found under your dashboard), pair it with
your phone or tablet, and voilà—with the right app such as AutoMind you’re able
to receive the secret diagnostic data. However, making use of that data either
requires mechanical knowledge or the AutoMind – it’s what we specialise in!

Please Note: AutoMind is a free service, so phone and direct email support isn’t available. Help is provided via this Knowledge Base and Ticketing System only. In the app, tap the help or ‘i’ icon to view the correct article. If you still need assistance, you can submit a support ticket — but if the answer is already covered here, we’ll refer you back to it. Personal replies are limited due to the free nature of this service.
